Guardiola - great manager, just a merely good player in my view. No where near an all time great. Xavi and Ineista miles better. Even a mention for David Villa. Only going by who I have seen myself. Germany - Mattheus was immense in his prime around 1990. Italy, would have to be Maldini and Baresi. Pirlo as a midfielder.

It's a hard one. Although I think the OP could make a good argument for his choices.
I don't think Beckenbauer can be argued although I would suggest Lothar Mattheus is close behind him.
Baggio, again a good shout, but I think Maldini or Baresi run him close.
Peronally I think Xavi over Iniesta.

Personally think zoff was much better than buffon, even though that sounds ridiculous, as buffon is a legend and one of the greatest keepers of all time.
Remember a period when he was unbeatable for italy.
I asked an old juve fan and he tells me Gianni rivera (milan) is the best playmakers in history. Must admit I'd never heard of him.
Iniesta and beckenbauer incredible players, but with the Kaiser being before my time, I'd also plump for matteus. Fucker was quality.
